Hello Tim and Jolene!

I came upon your blog while search for updates on La Maison de L'espoir in Tibiri. I was a volunteer there from 05-06 but spent my first year in Mayahi, in the village of Guidan Bako. I think about my time there all the time, about 10 times a day at least. When its hot outside I immediately get the sensation of being in Niger, which is not everyday in Indiana. Anyhow, I wanted to write to send my GAISUWA and hope you can great my old friends in Tibiri. I miss them profusely I hope to return in the coming year for a visit or research opportunity. Do you know Hediza the teacher? She lives next to the cell phone tower, near ACP Maison de l'espoir. She's great! Also greet if you can the tailors across the street from the tower. Nana Antoine, La directrice of the Jardin D'enfants is also a good friend of mind. Send my best if you can!

I MISS NIGER!!!

Hi there T & J!
Let me know next time you guys are heading to Zinder - we're here until early June. If you're here on a weekend I could set you up for a ride - but would need a few days to fix another horse. If anyone of you are the horseback riding types! Hopefully the phone line won't be leaking electricity to our roof then, so we won't be dealing with vicious accidents. Good luck with the goats! They sound like great escape artists. We moved into a house with a kennel, so we brought the dog out and the goats in. Worked wonders! Did not enjoy having a buck around, so only does stationed in our backyard these days.

Cheers!

Nice talking w/ you finally, good to hear your voice.

The gasoline fence idea seems pretty good to me, dunno what your hesitation is.

You need to post the story about your friend saying you look exactly like Jolene when you shave.

Dad and I tried to call you guys on Saturday, Dec. 27th, but there was no answer on either of your phones. Did you have a nice Christmas? Did you get the box of goodies from us? We'll be in southern Cal (Laguna Beach) Jan 2- 8.
